Blue Zones center
Overview
Architectural Design // Project Management // Firm: Cactus
Cactus was approached to help create the first of its kind lifestyle health center guided by the philosophy of Blue Zones, a series of communities around the world where the life expectancy is significantly higher than average. Led by Dan Bruetter the founder of Blue Zones, and Royal Palm Companies, the project is a 10 story medical office building with mixed use programming. The center includes four operating rooms, an imaging center, clinics, spa, gym, and a restaurant attached to the adjacent Legacy Tower. The 55 story tower includes a variety of spaces including residences, a hotel, and office spaces.
The Blue Zone Center is designed to empower visitors to be investors in their own health through a variety of well being partners, clinical partners, bespoke treatments, and community spaces. Part clinic, part clubhouse, the space is centered around a four story atrium where visitors and members can gather for events, lectures, and to be around like minded individuals. These spaces are connected to the residences and hotels in the adjacent tower, serving as an attractor and amenity spaces for residents and guests.
For each clinical floor, we worked directly with the leasees to develop purpose built floor plans for their distinct programs. This included an imaging center, a mix of consult and procedure rooms, a full clinical laboratory, physical therapy center, and a full spa.
